After being
humiliated to a 3-0 defeat at Malabo Stadium, in the hands of a rejuvenated
Ghanaian outfit, a section of Equatorial Guinea fans who were angered by the
results of ongoing match embarked on throwing plastic bottles and cans at the
visiting Ghanaian fans, and at the pitch.
This archaic and shambolic act resulted into the
match being stopped at the 82nd minute. It thereafter took over 25 minutes to
have the game continue, but this was after unending attempts to control the
rowdy Equatorial Guinea fans and guarantee the safety of the Ghanaian fans.

When the match
resumed, it only proceeded for three minutes being the final whistle went off.
What the Equatorial Guinea fans did was irresponsible and should be strongly
condemned by any football loving person alive today. In fact, its like they
took the African continent back to three decades ago. One wonders whether they
thought that they had the potential to defeat Ghana, given the low quality of
players they had in their fold!
